![]() Hi! On behalf of the members of the Tri-Cities Drum Circle we would like to welcome you to our website. Founded in September 2000 (gads, are we really going on our 8th year now??), our group is a rare resource in these parts and we're thrilled it still exists. In fact it is quite healthy and growing all the time! If you're a drummer (or thinking about becoming a drummer), we're glad you found us! We regularly update the content of this website with information about our three types of drumming activities, all of which are free and open to the general public:
Activity 2: about every 2 months we host a Special Event such as a campfire drumming, candlelight drumming, children's drumming, senior's drumming or other thematic drumming event. The location for these facilitated events varies with each event theme, and usually involves a short drive to a facility other than where we regularly meet at for our monthly jams. If this facility requires a reservation or day-use fee, donations are requested by attendees to help cover it. Activity 3: several members of the drum circle do performances with a local belly-dancing troupe (the Sultana Dancers under the direction of Laurie Nearing), and they meet on Sunday nights (except the third Sunday when we have our monthly jams) at a dance studio to practice with the dancers. The drummers and dancers do about 15 performances a year together at the area's major festivals. Any drummer is welcome to jump in on the fun but you need to attend some practices first! Children Policy: all ages are welcome to attend our Monthly Jams or Special Events, but anyone under 15 must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times and be there to drum. We strongly discourage anyone from bringing infants to the jams (for the infants' sake). All of our activities are designed to accomodate drumming newbies and veterans alike, and they are free -- they are not financially sponsored by any music store or vendor, nor are they a commercial venture of any group member. Everyone who attends them does so for the sheer joy of sharing the heartbeat. Some things in life are like that.
